The lighting of the iconic West Steps at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle was a major project for our company. We worked for a number of years with the
Surveyor of the Fabric and the Royal Household to produce lanterns to light this most important heritage location.
During the development, full mock ups were produced and night time lighting trials were carried out to ensure that size, scale, style and functionality were all correct.
Each cast brass lantern is anchored through the ancient stonework and the control gear for the lamps is housed beneath the steps.
We completed the project installation and the lanterns now form part of this ancient monument.
