Guild Hall – City of London Corporation – Great Hall

In 2018 Madson Black were commissioned by the City of London Corporation to design a new energy efficient lighting scheme for the Iconic Great Hall at the Guild Hall.

The scheme design included the restoration and rewiring of the Eight Large 32 Light chandeliers which hang within the main body of the Hall. The existing inefficient 250 watt lamps were replaced with state of the art Xicato 3000lm Modules with a CRI of 95 at 2700K. These units smooth dim to under 1% and at 3000lm per unit give the Great Hall excellent illumination with superb colour rendering whilst being highly energy efficient.

In addition new high output LED wall washers were installed to produce long reach illumination projecting high up into the Great Hall ceiling. Additional window washers were installed along with trellis and plinth lighting combined with down light LEDs for general areas.

Designed by Madson Black founder James Hall, the scheme installation was completed in November 2019 giving the Great Hall an enhanced level of quality energy efficient illumination.
